Summer Concert "Around the World in Eighty Minutes"
Friday 2nd July 2010 7.30pm
St Sepulchre-without-Newgate Church, Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 9DE
(nearest station City Thameslink, nearest tube St Paul's)
Join the eighty voices of City Chorus for eighty minutes of music from all corners of the globe. The programme
will take you on a musical journey to the varied choral climes of Wales, Hungary, Indonesia, Korea, Japan and
Samoa. There'll even be some English songs too. Phrase book not necessary (all will be explained by your
friendly tour guide), painful injections and expensive passports similarly not required. The choir will be
conducted by Paul Ayres, accompanied by the talented Philip Shannon on piano and organ, and our guest
soloist is soprano Maya Sapone, described by Neil Fisher in The Times as "fabulously hot-blooded". Maya will join
the choir in operatic and sacred items, and perform solo vocal music from Africa, Thailand and South America.
