A celebration of musical genius shared by members of the same families, with works for solo soprano, choir and string ensemble by the Haydn brothers (Franz Joseph and Johann Michael); father and son (Leopold and Wolfgang) Mozart; and brother and sister (Felix and Fanny) Mendelssohn.
Come and enjoy well-known and much-loved choral classics such as Mendelssohn’s Hear my Prayer (which includes O for the wings of a dove) and Mozart’s Ave Verum and Laudate Dominum, together with a rare chance to hear beautiful music by historically overshadowed, yet extremely talented, composers.
In recognition of City Chorus’s commitment to exploring interesting and lesser-known repertoire, this concert has generously been supported by the Music Reprieval Trust.
